Alaskan Bairdi Snow Crab Legs
Bairdi Crab (also known as Tanner Crab Legs) are caught in Southeast Alaska. With their prized snowy white meat, they deliver a punch of sweet flavor and are known for their flaky, fibrous texture.
Our Bairdi Crab legs are packed in convenient 1lb bags. Cooking methods involve steaming, boiling, or baking.
What are Bairdi Crabs and where are they caught?
Bairdi Snow crabs are caught in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. Ours is landed in Kodiak, Alaska where it is pre-cooked and frozen. Bairdi Crab are found at sandy bottoms at depths of 30 to 1,500 feet. They are smaller in size and less red than king crabs and, instead of the king’s three sets of walking legs, these crabs have four sets, plus a pair of claws. Bairdi are the largest snow crab, averaging 5 pounds and measuring 3 feet from tip to tip.

Seafood ordered from Sizzlefish should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.
The best way to thaw our seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it in cool water for around thirty minutes to an hour.
