All About The Seasoning!
Cajun seasoning, butter and honey are a winning combination in this flavor packed recipe. Butter makes up the base of the sauce with sweet honey, fresh lemon juice for acidity and minced garlic for a pop of herb flavor.
Cajun seasoning is a blend of spices and herbs commonly used in Louisiana cuisine, particularly in Cajun and Creole cooking. It typically features a combination of ingredients such as paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, thyme, oregano, and sometimes additional spices like celery seed, mustard powder, or dried herbs.
Cajun seasoning is known for its bold and robust flavor profile, often delivering a spicy and savory taste. The exact proportions of the spices may vary depending on the brand or individual recipe, but the key components usually remain consistent.
This versatile seasoning blend can be used to add flavor to a variety of dishes. We love it on salmon, shrimp and any seafood that needs a kick of zesty spice!
It can be used as a dry rub for grilling or smoking, as a seasoning for pan-frying or sautéing, or as an ingredient in marinades or sauces. When using Cajun seasoning, it's important to note that it can be quite spicy due to the presence of cayenne pepper. Adjust the amount according to your personal preference for heat. Additionally, some store-bought Cajun seasonings may contain added salt, so be mindful of the salt content if you're watching your sodium intake.
If you're interested in using Cajun seasoning, you can find it in most grocery stores or make your own blend by combining the individual spices mentioned earlier. Homemade versions allow you to adjust the flavors to suit your taste preferences. Try our Sizzlefish Off the Hook Cajun Style Seasoning that is ready to use on all your favorite seafood dishes.
