Lobster Tail Meat - As Versatile As It Is Delectable.
Whether eaten right out of the shell with melted butter, incorporated into a bisque...or even made into pasta...lobster meat is delicious! In addition to sharing another tasty recipe, we'll also be teaching you how to properly steam your lobster tails so you can cook them as often as your heart desires.
What Kind Of Pasta Do I Need?
For this recipe we used pappardelle, a wider pasta very similar to fettuccine. This recipe can be changed to fit your taste though so don't hesitate to use your favorite shape of pasta, or whatever kind you might have in your kitchen already!
How Is The Pasta Creamy?
So glad you asked! While you could just buy a pre-made Alfredo type sauce at the grocery store, we find that doing it ourselves makes it taste even better. The paprika and chili flakes we add gives this sauce a little warmth and spice (not too much though!) which pairs so nicely with the sweetness you get from the lobster. We believe this homemade sauce is restaurant level goodness so you won't want to miss out on it, and you may even use this part of the recipe in your regular kitchen rotation.
Another Sauce?
The lobster needs some dressing too! Not to worry, the Lemon Garlic Herb sauce is incredibly easy to make, you can get it done while you're waiting for your water to boil and still be finished before it's time to cook your pasta or steam your lobster. Use this to drizzle your lobster tails or leave it on the side for dipping, either way you'll be glad you have it.
Tell Me About The Lobster!
For this recipe we of course chose the best lobster tails we could find, and that's with Sizzlefish! The Main Lobster Tails at Sizzlefish have a mild, sweet, and distinctive flavor that make it perfect for this recipe. These lobster tails are sustainably caught off the Gulf of Maine in their pristine cold waters, and all this talking is making us hungry so let's get into the recipe!

For Steamed Lobster Tails
For the Lemon Garlic Herb Sauce
For the Creamy Pasta:
Directions
Butterflying The Lobster Tails
Using sharp kitchen sears, cut down the middle of the shell towards the lobster tail. (The shell side should be facing up and the lobster tail pointed away from you.)
Flip the lobster tail over and gently press your fingers down the middle to break the ribs.
Flip back over, then firmly spread the shell open where you've made the slit.
Slip your fingers under the meat in the shell to pull it out in one piece.
Steaming the Lobster Tails
Add 2 inches of water to a large pot, then place in the steamer basket.
Bring the water to a boil, then add the lobster tails and cover.
Cook until the meat is firm with a pinkish-white color, and the shell is red, about 50-60 seconds per ounce.
For the Lemon Garlic Herb Sauce
Melt the butter, then transfer to a small serving bowl.
Stir in the remaining ingredients and serve on the side with the cooked lobster tails.
For the Creamy Pasta
Cook the pasta according to package ingredients, or until al dente.
Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, and paprika to sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Add in the milk and flour, whiskingwellto combine. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking to combine, then season with salt and black pepper.
Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 5-6 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
Add the pasta and grated cheese, tossing until evenly coated.
Enjoy warm with the cooked lobster tails!
