Imagine this, perfectly tender, flaky, crispy fish and chips only healthier. Here at Sizzlefish, our North Atlantic Cod is a natural wild caught Cod with a mild, slightly sweet flavor and flaky white flesh. North Atlantic cod has long been popular in the US, as well as in Europe and South America. We select only the premium fish for our wild cod fillet portions. (Not to be confused with "Pacific cod," a different species of fish which is sometimes mistakenly passed off as traditional North Atlantic cod.) Each of our Wild Atlantic Cod fillet portion is packed with protein yet remains low in carbohydrates making a great choice for low carb/high protein diets. North Atlantic cod is also a source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and provides substantial levels of vitamins B12 and D.
There are a few things you need to do to get that beautiful crust though. You need to make sure the cod fillets are fully thawed in the refrigerator the night before. You also need to make sure you dry the fillets well before breading to make sure the breading sticks and air fries to a crisp golden brown. If they are still slightly frozen or if there is access moisture in the fillets, they will not completely crisp up the way you want them to. Another tip is to make sure you don’t overcrowd the fish or potatoes in the air fryer. The air fryer works best if air can circulate around the food, so a little space will give you the perfect crunch on the sides of the fillets.

Directions
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Cut the potatoes to ¼ inch thick sticks. Place the fries in a large bowl of cold water and rinse well. Remove the fries from the water and pat dry with a dish towel.
Next, coat the fries with the oil spray, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spray the basket of the air fryer with oil. Working in batches, put the fries in an even layer in the air fryer basket with no overlapping and cook, turning them halfway through, until golden brown, 14 to 16 minutes.
Remove the fries from the air fryer onto a sheet pan and season with salt, as needed. Place the pan in the oven on warm to keep them warm while you cook the fish.
In a small bowl, combine the flour, paprika, salt, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
Place the panko in a separate bowl.
Place the egg in another bowl and beat well.
Spray the air fryer pan with oil to coat.
To coat the cod fillets, dip them first in the flour, then in the egg and next into the panko bread crumbs.
As you coat the cod fillets with the breading place them in the oiled air fryer basket.
After placing the fillets in the air fryer basket, spray each one well with olive oil spray.
Set the tray or basket into the air fryer at 400°F, for 6 minutes, flip the fillets and spray with more oil. Continue to cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the internal temperature of the fillets reaches 145°F.
