Simple and delicious this recipe for the Best Classic Hamburger is the perfect summer meal. This burger is incredibly juicy and perfectly seasoned with minimal ingredients.
Nothing says summertime like lighting up the grill and throwing deliciously juicy burgers on for dinner. This recipe for the Best Classic Hamburger will become your go to recipe for years to come. First though, you have to start with high quality ground beef. That is the key to the flavor and simplicity of this recipe. Here at Sizzlefish, our ground beef comes from Mills Family Farm, founded in 1935. This 200+ acre, veterinarian owned and managed, working cattle facility is located in Mooresville, NC. The cattle on this farm are raised on grass pastures for premium beef. All of their beef is all natural, dry-aged for 14 days, raised without antibiotics and absolutely no hormones. This is what allows us to make a hamburger with minimal ingredients!
Let’s talk method, shall we? While the recipe is simple, the method for creating this amazing hamburger is also simple. There are just a few things to keep in mind so insure you end up with a tender juicy hamburger. First of all, whatever you do, don’t overmix the ingredients. Using your hands gives you the chance to control how much mixing it takes to incorporate the ingredients. Second, when you form the ground beef into the patty shape, gently pressing an indention in the center keeps you from having a dome shaped burger ball once the beef cooks. Since the meat shrinks while cooking, when you place a slight indentation in the center, as the hamburger cooks and draws in, it will cook to the perfect flat burger shape. Last, but not least, make sure you preheat that grill so you get the perfect sear to seal in all the juices in your burger.

Directions
Clean and oil your grill. Preheat the grill to medium high.
Place the ground beef, garlic powder, kosher salt and black pepper in a large bowl.
Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to over mix them.
Divide the burger mixture into two parts. Using your hands form the burger mixture into balls then press to flatten to your desired thickness. Make a slight indentation in the center on the patty.
Place the burger patties on the heated grill. Allow the burger to cook for 3-5 minutes making sure not to press or move beforehand.
Flip the burger and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes. For rare, cook for less time and for well done, cook for longer.
If adding cheese, do so on the grill in the last minute of cooking for melted cheese or once the burger is removed from the grill for softened cheese.
Once cooked, remove the burgers from the grill. Place the burgers on a bun and assemble with your desired toppings.
